Welcome to Jenny's Laboratory, where passion for natural hair care meets dedication to clean and toxic-free products. Hi, my name is Jennifer, but you may know me as "Jen-the-Scientist", founder and creator behind this venture. Let me share a bit about myself and the journey that led to the creation of this online natural hair care product line. 

I've been proudly embracing my natural hair for over a decade. But let me tell you, it hasn't always been smooth sailing. In fact, it was quite the struggle.

For years during my journey, I battled with dry, lackluster curls that just wouldn't budge past my shoulders. I thought I was doing everything right by dousing my hair with water daily, thinking it was the key to moisture. Little did I know, I was only causing more harm than good, experiencing breakage and frustration along the way.

It took me far too long to realize that there's an art to proper hair care—a science, even. I was essentially on a decade-long journey of trial and error, trying to grow healthy hair and doing it all wrong. But here's the silver lining: I've learned from my mistakes so you don't have to.  In just the past few years, I've gained more knowledge than I did throughout decades of navigating the natural hair journey solo. Armed with my scientific background and newfound skill in deciphering labels, I've been able to indulge in the two passions that light up my world.

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, my expertise lies in the fields of Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Pathology. My passion for science is unwavering, and my love for hair surpasses even that. The privilege of merging these two passions is among the greatest blessings I've received. 

From a young age, I discovered my love for styling hair, starting with twisting and braiding my little sisters' and cousins' hair. Today, as a mom to three beautiful sons and blessed with a wonderful and supportive husband, my interest in hair and haircare deepened when I began learning how to cut and maintain my sons' natural hair. 

As mentioned before, the interest in haircare was always there but the merging with science came when my sisters and I started to explore the connection between our overall bodies health and our hair. We learned that the hair is usually the first sign in telling us how our body is doing.  Hair starts to lose its moisture, get dry and eventually shed or break when we are experiencing illness.  Recognizing that products containing harmful ingredients can exacerbate damage to both our bodies and our hair, I became determined to steer clear of hair products laced with questionable ingredients.

This exploration ignited a passion in me to create clean and toxic-free hair products. In today's world, people are increasingly conscious of what they eat and drink for their health, but sometimes we forget that what we put ON our bodies is just as important as what we put IN our bodies, and those ingredients can also have profound effects. 

My journey took a more personal turn as my sons suffered from allergies and eczema. Determined to make a change, I realized that many conventional products were filled with immune-response-triggering ingredients. I decided it was time to create something better, something clean and safe for my family. 

I began by changing my family's diet and learning to decipher product labels. However, finding truly clean products was a challenge. This led me to explore the world of formulation, as I sought to create products that aligned with our clean living values. 

After extensive research, tutorials, and online workshops, I took a leap and crafted my first batch of elixirs, moisturizers, and butters. These initial creations were shared within my family circle, then extended to friends and coworkers. I valued their feedback, making continuous improvements and adjustments to perfect my products. 

My vision for Jenny's Laboratory is to offer, not only natural hair care solutions, but also to expand into a range of clean and healthy products. I am committed to an ongoing journey of learning, growth, and love for what I do. My goal is to assist others on their path to healthier living by providing products that are not only effective but also safe and pure. 

That's why I founded this company—to spare you the pain, the suffering, and the countless mistakes I made along the way. My passion lies in helping others, in guiding women, men, and the generations to come toward a path of healthy, thriving hair that they can truly love.
